Raise Behavioral Health

Jessica Kamin / Hardman

Jessica Kamin LMFT, Owner, Supervisor
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Behavioral Health Practitioner- Infant Mental Health Clinician - Child & Adolescent Specialist-

You are overwhelmed and exhausted. You feel like you have tried everything to help your child. You have been looking and searching for answers from teachers, friends, parents, in-laws, and most of the time you just want to shout “ I have tried that and it does not work!” You have started to look for help in behavioral health which has been a whirlwind of confusion, long wait times, and unreturned phone calls. All of this is beyond frustrating and all you want is to help your child from this pain and raise over the challenges that your family is facing.

you did it, you found me, and I am here to help.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist or LMFT who specializes in children and adolescent family therapy in both Arizona and Utah. The LMFT status I have obtained means I have reached the highest level of licensure possible to practice therapy. I have been working with children, adolescents, and families for over almost a decade. I have experience working and volunteering as a Child and Adolescent Habilitation Specialist, Child Development Specialist, and as a Child Life Specialist at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Also, I have experience as being a part of Arizona’s Early Intervention Program where I helped teach other professionals to learn the importance of Early Intervention. I have 6 years of experience as a teacher teaching multiple ages. I also have specializations in working with children with challenging behaviors, families with special needs, infant and toddler mental health, and medical family therapy. I have also been a part of hundreds of hours of research conducted at ASU through different projects that studied and researched how to raise mentally healthy children and families.

I have also been a part of hundreds of hours of research conducted at ASU through different projects that studied and researched how to raise mentally healthy children and families.

Arizona Children's Association where I became an expert at helping children and families with behavioral health needs. I also obtained the role of practicing as an infant mental health clinician and was a member of the Infant Mental Health Coalition of Arizona for Birth to Five Specialization. I then moved into a group private practice where I was recognized as the first outstanding clinician of the quarter and became one of the most referred clinicians by schools, pediatricians, and psychiatrists in the east valley. I continued to further my education in therapeutic approaches and gain more experience helping children. I look forward to helping your child and family raise over the challenges you are facing today.

What sets me apart from other clinicians is that I value the systemic family approach to therapy. This means as parents you will be included in therapy sessions and kept in the loop about what is going on with diagnosis and treatment throughout the therapeutic process. After working with children for almost over a decade, I find that doing family therapy with children instead of just the individual produces the fastest and long-lasting results to make real change. Depending on age and circumstance I do offer individual sessions to children and adolescents but the parents will always be informed of progress and checked in with during the session to ensure proper communication and a healthy therapeutic relationship.

I also value a systemic approach to behavioral health and value communication between all providers in your child's life. If permitted by you and needed with treatment, I will have excellent communication with psychiatrists, pediatricians, and schools to make certain that your child and family is experiencing the best collaborative care available to ensure the wholeness of behavioral and physical health.

Jason Hardman, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Co-Owner of Raise Behavioral Health

A Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and co-owner of Raise Behavioral Health. My wife, Jess, and I founded Raise Behavioral Health to foster an improved collaborative model between therapists and providers, enhancing care for patients and families through comprehensive behavioral and psychiatric services. Raise is a behavioral health clinic built by our family for your family. We are here to Raise you up to your best self.

Professional Background

I am a Arizona Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Throughout my academic journey, I was fortunate to have exceptional mentors who shaped my approach to mental health care. My clinical rotations were completed alongside some of our most trusted referral sources, offering me a solid foundation to build my practice on.

In addition to my role at Raise, I work with the psychiatric team at Dignity Health, providing acute care psychiatric consults. This experience enriches my emergency and medical knowledge, enhancing the comprehensive care I offer in the outpatient setting.

With over five years of experience as a bedside nurse in various acute care settings, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Raise Behavioral Health. I have been recognized for my excellence by both Banner Health and Dignity Health. At Banner Health, I received the World of Difference Award, and Dignity Health honored me with the Daisy Foundation Award on two occasions, recognizing my commitment to compassionate care.

My Approach to Care

At Raise Behavioral Health, my mission is to provide thorough, holistic psychiatric evaluations and treatments for a wide range of psychiatric disorders. My primary focus is on patients aged 6 to 30, but I am also dedicated to serving individuals across the lifespan, including parents and families. I believe in the importance of understanding familial patterns and genetic predispositions, as this knowledge is crucial in guiding our clinical decisions and medication management. Our goal is to Raise the standard of mental health care by improving communication and collaboration between providers and therapists, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes.

Personal Insights

Outside of my professional pursuits, I am passionate about maintaining a balanced lifestyle. I actively train and compete in cycling, triathlon, and ultramarathon trail events. This commitment to health helps me disconnect from the busyness of daily life and return to the office ready to be fully present and supportive for my patients. I believe in supporting everyone in finding their unique path to happiness and stability in their mental health. I strive to bring my best self to each appointment to help achieve this goal.

My Education

It's my goal to create a comfortable, safe environment, where we'll work to achieve the goal together
I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science in Family and Human Development. I then continued my education by getting accepted to one of the best marriage and family graduate school programs in Arizona at Arizona State University. I graduated with a 4.0 at the top of my class from the program. I then passed the Board of Behavioral Health Licensing Exam and worked as a LAMFT to complete my hours under great supervision as an Associate level Marriage and Family Therapist. I then was awarded the highest level of licensure possible which is a LMFT or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the Board of Behavioral Health and continue to add continuing education in new practices and research to always continue to add to my education and practice.

On the Side

I know choosing a therapist for your child and family can be a very personal decision in finding the best fit for you. I am extremely transparent about who I am as a person to make the best connection with your child and you. Here are a few things I enjoy doing "On the Side" to help you get a little bit better of an idea of who I am.

I am originally from Southern California and moved to Arizona over a decade ago to attend ASU. I have a Therapy Dog in training named Tonto Ranger after the Tonto National Forest. He is training to be able to be in office to help children and families who would like to have him as a part of services. I have a little brother, a mother, a father and I have a husband named Jason Hardman who is the co-owner of Raise. Jason is currently a Nurse and Mercy Gilbert and he is in the process of finishing up his degree to be a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in kids and families. Our vision for Raise is to better the collaboration in care between Prescriber and Therapist to create better more effective outcomes for children and families.
